Hi Prabu,

If you want to decide between upgrade and extend, I guess you should go with extension. It wou;d be cost effective.

Re: 'Save As' Function in CR 2013?

No, you can't save as an older version.  However, the internal structure of the .rpt file hasn't changed much since Crystal 9 - the only changes are where new features have been added.  So, if you just save the 2008 report in 2013, you can still open the report in 2008.  You will get a warning message that the report was saved in a newer version, but Crystal 2008 will still open it.

Hi Padmajaran,

You can try:

NWA->Troubleshooting->Process and Task->BPM Actions

Set the process instance with this problem, search, if there's inactive tasks, reset them.

Change Measure Value From Key to Text

0

I  created a macro to populate a filter with values from a list .

LResult = Application.Run("SAPSetFilter", "DS_1", "GLFMRPRID__GLFMRMOLC", vntData, "INPUT_STRING")

In order to get the macro to work, I had to have the field values listed as the key value instead of the text value (e.g. "MC0592" is displayed instead of "Serbia").  At the end of the macro, I would like to convert back from key to display the actual text,  I reviewed the User Guide: Sap  BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office sections 3.4 and 3.6 on working with formulas and working with macros, but have not been able to identify a formula or API which will do the trick.  An Internet search came up empty as well.

Any help will be appreciated.

How to Convert String Data type to Table so I can use SAVE_TEXT Function

0

Hello,  I have a requirement to take data stored in a string data type and then use the SAVE_TEXT function to store this data in a text object/id.  I know how to use the SAVE_TEXT function.  I just don't know how to take the data stored it in a string data type and convert it to the table format this function requires.

The String data is defined as:

user_comments TYPE STRING

The SAVE_TEXT_Function requires that the data be passed as a table with the TLINE structure data type.  The table has 2 fields:

- TDFORMAT   char2

-TDLINE           Char132

So somehow I need to break up the data in this user_comments field into 132 character pieces and store it in this table format.  There is probably an easy answer out their somewhere, but I have not been able to find it.  Does anyone have any suggestions/code examples?

Re: Creating Analytic/Calculation view best practice

Hi Patrick,

Analytical views make use of olap engine and olap engine is specifically designed to execute star schemas.  basic master data and fact table join is nothing but a star schema, and olap engine processes them faster than calculation engine. I conducted a poc and analytical view was faster than calculation view. This is not applicable when your view has complex calculations. In that regard prefer calculation view.

Re: Issue doing availability check in APO for GATP

Hi Pavan

Key parameters in Availability Check done in GATP are

1. Check Mode (determined based on Requirement Class in ECC)

2. Business Event (Checking Rule in ECC)

3. ATP Group  (Material Master field)

I suggest you to try transaction CO09 in ECC for same material/plant. This should make a RFC connection to APO and open screen from your connected APO System. This will help to find out whether gATP availability check is active for this material/location. Then you can Verify integration model for Availability Check.

Hope this will help

Re: Activity Rate is different for same Activity Type

Hi,

I think you might be confusing between the costing side and the billing rate.  Normally on the costing side for the same Work Center (or Cost Center) it is the same price (means cost) not influenced by who is the customer.

On the billing side you can have different customer specific rates (prices) according to the contract, and those can be calculated in SD.

Re: Statistical Forecast Models Using Forecast Assignment Table

Hello Christopher

Control Parameter in the activity needs to be setup correctly.

Additionally please refer this old thread

Forecasting interactively and background in DP

Just want to add some additional information on this topic  -

In Planning Book, Goto Settings => Forecast Profile => Assignments: There are three options available -

1) Save assignment of selection for forecast profile - This allows users to save changes to original forecast profile

2) Save assignment with unique forecast profile - (this allows for the planner to fine tune a model but then save it to a unique GUID instead of over-writing the original profile itself.  Typically, DP Planner are expected to use this option.

3) Do not save assignment and forecast profiles  - This also allows users to over-write the original forecast profile settings without saving the assignment

Additionally if this /SAPAPO/FCST_GUIDS parameter is set to “X” then it will result into system saving any forecast profile changes as a unique forecast profile(GUID based).

Also when generating the forecasting (using option#2 above )interactively, it is important to use same planning levels(selection id) as defined in aggregation levels in background job.

Hope this will help.

Thank you

Hi Mohsin,

Kindlu update the SYSADM group by DNSTADM

db2 get dbm cfg | grep -i sys

Check with any System which has DB2 installed , you will understand more about DNSTADM.

Re: Dynamic Selection Screen with Select Options capture range of values

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your inputs so far. I was looking for the approach but the tables in the real spec are different.

Re: Push down to database

Full SQL pushdown can only be achieved if all sources and the target in a data flow are tables in the same database (or in linked databases). A SQL Insert into a file is just not possible.

You can include a Data_Transfer transform just before the target file. Select Table for "Transfer Type", specify the Table Name (make sure the temp table will be created in the source db) and check the "Enable Transfer" box. In this way your data flow will be split in 2 sub-flows:

  • In sub-flow 1 a full SQL pushdown is possible
  • Sun-flow 2 will copy all records 1-to-1 from the temp table to the file.

Re: How to get the server folder path of a deployed Crystal report?

Hi Don

I'm using SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise Version 14.1

The feature  I am asking about would be helpful if it can be placed in the footer of the
report. It would be highly useful once the reports  are deployed to the server. For instance, a report user may have some issues on a particular report, and if the report they are running shows the path where it is located, it helps in speeding up trying to locate the report, especially when there's hundreds of reports deployed on the server.

Kind regards

Ely

Hi Chris -

No, I don't work for SAP; I am an SAP customer.  I am giving you my best guess; perhaps others have suggestions.

You can check out suggestions for Lumira at SAP Lumira: Home - SAP's Idea Place

I agree with you - this is a good idea to have.
