The query plan can be represented in different ways: • set showplan on shows the query plan in the well‐known format, showing the join order, indexes used and I/O strategy. • set statistics plancost on (a new command in ASE 15) shows the query plan in a format more closely resembling the internal "Lava Tree". • Lastly, the GUI tool DBISQL can display the query plan in a graphical tree format. This is not discussed further in this document.
