Yes, you will be updating with old data - of course! But that may not be a bad thing, if the abends stopped all subsequent updates as well.
You might want to replicate these types of errors in Test (I assume the abends also happen there) and see what happens when you try to re-execute the ARFC updates after the fix.
It's amazing that this FM issue wasn't noticed in the Test system. Or was a transport missed when it moved to Production?

Most of the time this is caused by over memory usage.
Make sure you clean up the objects used using the ReleaseComObject at every loop.
Check your memory usage in the TaskManager, if your memory is properly cleaned up, the memory usage should grow and then would reduced back to the original size, grow again, reduced again over and over until the whole documents are created.

if your cube have 0WBS_ELEMT(assuming master data is available) , then you can use the navigational attribute (business area) , no need to add it additionally to characteristics
and you can use same navigational attribute in query.
in this case, you need to transport cube (as you tick the navigational attribute check box of business area), transformation, DTP and query.

I installed a new BI 4.1 without Tomcat i.e. BIServer separately and I would like to use the dedicated web server i.e. TomcatServer.
How do I configure the newly installed BI 4.1 server to use the dedicated TomcatServer?

I haven't encountered this myself before but maybe the FTP channel in PI 7.4 is unable to determine the encoding of the file name.
You can try setting a suitable encoding for the Chinese characters with file.encoding. Refer question 20 in SAP Note 821267.

you get over 130 script errors. Why don't you start by simply commenting out most of the script to narrow down which parts of the script is causing the issues ?
also the error log screens in Design Studio designer should help

You can setup for servers and access levels. But it is not possible for other options. Either you can give full control or remove from viewing those options.

In that case, you have to install dedicated web server for Dev.
Is there any reason why you don't want another server?
Only other option is, you can open different browser, then you can login to dev in one browser and test server in another browser.

We recently migrated to BW 7.4 on HANA SP13 and we started using Advanced DSOs. However, we are now facing a complex situation. It might be something silly but we haven't figured it out yet.
With classic DSOs, when a request activation failed due to junk data, you used to be able to be able to see the characteristic where it was failing and the problematic value. This was available on the Activation Log.
Now, with Advanced DSOs, we cannot see any of these details. We just get a message saying SID generation failed.
So, is there a way to identify the problematic characteristic and the problematic value in aDSOs? Has the DSO activation log been replaced or been put somewhere else? Do we need to look into HANA? If so, where?
