We're sitting with a requirement on the HCM side to display the RealEstate structure, down to the workstation level, on an employee record as well as allow maintenance through ESS, with the required validations.
I personally don't know either of these modules very well but from the bit of searching that I've completed, it appears as if there's no standard integration with the HCM module.
The first requirement appears to be easy enough. A custom RFC to pull the data from the RE-FX system to display the information on the HCM system, linked by BPID. We could easily display the data they require in any space.
The maintenance section is where I'm still digging.
It appears as if I'll have to create a new BSP and slot it into ESS somewhere, somehow. They require an approval "workflow" (note the quotes), that should first place the move into a planned status, then after manegerial approval, we can set it to actual.
So what I'm wondering, is if I'm on the right track with this? And then secondly, which BAPIs should I be using to link the BP to a workstation?
I know I probably need a little more direction from an RE-FX / HCM consultant but I thought I'd ask here first.
